The new public relations chief for Whitehall has told his equivalent local authority heads that he needs their help to make government communications ‘the best in the world.'

Speaking at the LG Comms event in Bristol last week, Alex Aiken, director of communications for the Cabinet Office, said the Government was due to publish its communications plan on 20 June and told delegates: ‘We're not different, we're the same profession and you should join the Government communications network.'
