Comms firm loses £80m in 'strong year'

Kingston Communications, the telecoms company in which Hull City Council holds a 31% stake, recorded losses of £80.8m during the last financial year.

Theses losses stem from the firm's decision to write down the value of its network infrastructure by £89.5m. The firm, which had a strong year pushing revenues up more than 30% to reach £453.9m – said the write down reflected the changing value of the its network.
