Communication is key when it comes to devolution

The importance of clearly explaining devolution bids to local public has been overlooked. Heather Jameson examines the case for better communication.

That great amorphous group – the public – has spoken on devolution. Unsurprisingly, Ipsos MORI has found that people support decentralisation, but don't really know what devolution is.

So while we at MJ Towers naval gaze on the nuances of the latest devo deals, the rest of the country is cracking on with their lives, blissfully unaware of the great constitutional shift taking place in the backrooms of Whitehall – or at least a bit of tinkering with the balance of power, depending on your view.
