Complementary role for new MP Andy

As the new MP for Corby, Andy Sawford promises Heather Jameson he has no intention of forgetting his local government roots.

Former chief executive of the LGIU, Andy Sawford, has just been elected as the new MP for Corby – and has won a place on the CLG select committee. But, he promises Heather Jameson, he has no intention of forgetting his local government roots.

Just one week into his new role as MP for Corby and East Northants, Andy Sawford is already looking very comfortable. Squatting in the Portcullis House offices of his former boss, Rosie Winterton, he has already been appointed on to the CLG select committee.
