Connecting across missions is easier in places

It’s so much easier make the Government's missions link together when you are grounded in places and economies, and this is 'a real chance for local government to shine', says Claire Spencer

Party conferences are a great deal more than their constitutional function.

They bring the ecosystems around political power together, connecting people, places and organisations across missions, disciplines, and policy areas. It also gives the outside world a glimpse at the health of that ecosystem, which you can read in everything from the level of business sponsorship to the mood of activists.
