Cool reception for Gove plan

More than 80% of local authority children's services directors have no plans to help deliver and support education secretary Michael Gove's expansion of academy and free schools, consultants Deloitte have revealed.

According to a report by Deloitte's education strategy team, published on 24 October, 83% of directors have no proactive plan in place to support delivery of the independent schools or academies in their locality by assuming responsibility for commissioning.
