Local government minister Brandon Lewis has accused some of England's major cities of 'crying wolf' over the impact of funding cuts.

Local government minister Brandon Lewis has accused some of England's major cities of ‘crying wolf' over the impact of funding cuts by refusing to dip into their cash reserves.

Mr Lewis was responding – on behalf of communities secretary Eric Pickles – to an open letter sent by leaders of the group of eight Core Cities last week.
