The article ‘District left with £8m bill after campus fails' (The MJ, 22 April) contained incorrect information on Waveney DC. We would like to make it clear that any outstanding costs are being shared by the three partners: Waveney DC, Suffolk CC and Cefas.

For Waveney, the amount falling back to revenue is only £1.4m and not £8m.

The article should not have suggested that the end of the project and plans for a public report had only been revealed through research. Waveney DC has not withheld that information. Their public announcements at the time in of the project's close in December 2009 were clear and there is no suggestion that Waveney had been anything other than completely transparent. We are happy to make this clear.
