Cotswold DC has boasted the country's biggest cut in council tax charges this year, after announcing plans to impose a 5% reduction in 2015/16.

The third successive cut to the local levy follows a 3% drop in charges last year - which the district claimed as the joint-largest reduction nationwide - and a 5% reduction in 2013/14 which also topped the national league.

Cotswold leader, Cllr Lynden Stowe, gave an assurance the council's frontline services would be kept while charges for car parking, the leisure centre, green waste were frozen – with building control fees cut to 10%.
