Council chief says protest 'was not in any way aimed at people of Indian heritage'

The chief executive of Luton BC Robin Porter has said he is reassured a march in the town following heightened tensions in Kashmir ‘was organised out of genuine concern for the people living in the area’.

The chief executive of Luton BC Robin Porter has said he is reassured a march in the town following heightened tensions in Kashmir ‘was organised out of genuine concern for the people living in the area'.

A number of Luton residents came together on Friday for the march and protest. Mr Porter said the ‘peaceful and legitimate protest' was organised ‘first and foremost because there are a large number of residents who have friends and family in the Kashmir region who are understandably very worried about the current situation'.
