Three leading local government organisations have joined forces to find new ways of encouraging people to adopt.

The Local Government Association (LGA), the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives, and the Association of Directors of Children's Services are developing a package of measures designed to cut the length of time it takes for a child to be placed with adoptive parents.
