Council defends care policy

Argyll and Bute Council has defended its plans to potentially deny hundreds of elderly people their right to free personal care services.

Cllr Dick Walsh, the council's spokesperson for social and health issues, said: ‘Our combination of rural and island communities presents unique challenges in delivering services. We are certainly not the only council facing problems.'
