Shropshire Council has been criticised by the Local Government Ombudsman for failing to offer effective support for a man who was providing 24-hour care for his wife.

Shropshire Council has been criticised by the Local Government Ombudsman for failing to offer effective support for a man who was providing 24-hour care for his wife.

Ombudsman, Dr Jane Martin, said the council did not carry out a formal assessment of the complainant's wife, which resulted in an ad-hoc care programme.
