Hammersmith & Fulham LBC has pledged to fight Whitehall attempts to cut school funding and redistribute it to local authorities outside of the capital.

The Department for Education is expected to launch another consultation on plans for a national schools funding formula shortly, but the London borough has pre-empted this by warning the current proposals could damage the ‘long-term viability' of some of its schools.
