Leeds City Council has launched an ‘urgent review' into the child protection case that sparked riots that broke out in the Harehills area.

West Yorkshire Police responded on Thursday evening to reports of social workers experiencing hostility while dealing with a child protection issue, which led to a riot that continued into Friday, with bricks being thrown at responding officers and several cases of arson.
