Council rapped over doomed £10m loan

Auditor KPMG has criticised Northampton BC for its handling of a doomed £10.25m loan to a football club.

Auditor KPMG has criticised Northampton BC for its handling of a doomed £10.25m loan to a football club.

In a report for the council, the auditor said the loan to Northampton Town Football Club was a ‘value for money risk' and the local authority's arrangement for loans was not adequate.
