The outgoing Local Government Ombudsman has warned local authorities they ‘cannot contract out accountability' when awarding contracts for care home services.

Dr Jane Martin spoke out after issuing a report that criticised Wokingham BC for leaving a vulnerable patient severely malnourished while living in a care home it contracted to look after her.
