Council seeks £50m studios investment

Hertsmere BC is seeking interest from an organisation willing to operate Elstree Film Studios, which it currently manages as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Hertsmere BC is seeking interest from an organisation willing to operate Elstree Film Studios, which it currently manages as a wholly-owned subsidiary. 

Council leader Jeremy Newmark, who is also chair of Elstree Film Studios, said the 100-year-old venture needed about £50m to 'enable this tremendous local asset, with a huge legacy in film and television, to remain competitive'.
