The Government has been accused of ‘dismantling the democratic process' after overturning a decision by Lancashire CC to refuse permission for a fracking site.

Lancashire rejected two applications by energy company Cuadrilla last June, but last week Sajid Javid gave the green light to allow fracking at one site in Preston New Road.
