Councillors on the new Joint Committee for West Northamptonshire will meet for the first time this evening to discuss setting up one of the two new unitary authorities replacing the county council.

The committee is tasked with setting up the Shadow Authority which will deliver the unitary authority for West Northamptonshire – one of two new unitary authorities due to emerge from the collapse of Northamptonshire CC.  The other is expected to cover the north of the county.
