The chair of an influential parliamentary committee has accused some councils of ‘turning their back on young people leaving their care'. 

Meg Hillier, the chair of the Public Accounts Committee, spoke out after the National Audit Office (NAO) published a report today, which reveals two-thirds of local authorities are providing inadequate services for young people leaving their care.
