Controversy over senior public servants avoiding tax through sanctioned pay deals has spread to local government, after it was revealed Hammersmith and Fulham LBC has called in advisers to assess whether it has breached complex laws.

The council has employed accounting giants Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) to review local pay arrangements for both personal service companies and self-employed workers.
