Local government organisations today issued a scathing attack on the new adoption 'scorecards' published by the Department for Education.

In a joint statement, the Local Government Association (LGA), the Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS) and the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) said the new system could put prospective adopters off and cause unnecessary concern.
