Council leaders from across Yorkshire have joined the protests at the Government's decision to close the children's heart surgery unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

In a joint statement, the leaders of all the political parties at Leeds City Council, said the decision was a 'devastating blow to families' and a motion confirming the local authority's plans to appeal will go before councillors next week.
