Councils 'crucial' in carbon fight

Action by local authorities will be crucial to the UK's efforts to cut carbon emissions, climate change minister, Phil Woolas, has said.

His comments came with publication of DEFRA statistics showing local regional emissions.

‘As estate managers, service-providers and community leaders, local authorities are at the forefront of the fight,' he said.
