Town hall leaders have defended their track record in using social value when awarding contracts after a report revealed only one in three regularly include it in their procurement processes.

Town hall leaders have defended their track record in using social value when awarding contracts after a report revealed only one in three regularly include it in their procurement processes.

The report by Social Enterprise UK found just 33% local authorities routinely consider social value in their procurement and commissioning processes, and only a quarter have a social value policy in place.
