Town hall chiefs have reiterated calls to bring forward extra cash for the Better Care Fund (BCF) in the light of a new trade union report that criticised councils for continuing to use 15-minute care visits.

The report by Unison, entitled Suffering Alone At Home, claims almost three quarters (74%) of local authorities in England are still limiting homecare visits for their elderly and vulnerable.
