Three local authorities are launching legal action over a central government decision to withdraw private finance initiative (PFI) credits for waste management schemes.

The Bradford and Calderdale MBCs confirmed on 22 May that they have applied to bring a judicial review over a decision by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) in February to withdraw £62.1m of PFI credits.
