Councils call for £644m cash injection into housing

Councils have urged the Government to plough £644m of capital funding into housing in England while a sustainable solution for investing in stock is found.

Councils have urged the Government to plough £644m of capital funding into housing in England while a sustainable solution for investing in stock is found. 

A report backed by 100 councils and commissioned by Southwark LBC suggested the cash injection would ensure local authorities could increase supply, improve housing conditions and meet net zero targets.
