Councils get £9m boost from shelved superstore

Somerset CC and Sedgemoor DC have received almost £9m from supermarket giant, Tesco, after the company shelved plans to build a superstore in Bridgwater.

Somerset CC and Sedgemoor DC have received almost £9m from supermarket giant, Tesco, after the company shelved plans to build a superstore in Bridgwater.

The supermarket chain put 49 proposed stores on hold in January, as part of a national programme to cut spending.
