Many councils are responding to the bud-get cuts with positive funding packages for voluntary groups, according to research by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO).

Earlier this year, the third sector organisation had written a joint letter with Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) to all councils to ask about cuts to the voluntary sector.
