English local authorities that have retained ownership and management of their council homes have ‘grasped the issues' highlighted by the tragic death of Awaab Ishak, a housing boss has insisted.

Toddler Awaab died in December 2020 from a severe respiratory condition due to prolonged exposure to mould in his one-bedroom housing association flat in Rochdale.
