Councils are hampered on housing, says new Lyons' Review

Local authorities are critical to government plans to increase housing supply, but they are hampered by rent cuts and the Right to Buy, according the updated Lyons’ commission on housing.

Local authorities are critical to government plans to increase housing supply, but they are hampered by rent cuts and the Right to Buy, according the updated Lyons' commission on housing. 

While his review welcomes the government's commitment to housing, he claims the focus on home ownership needs to expand to include affordable rented properties.
