Councils can help Government with messages of hope

When it comes to delivering inclusive economic growth, local government has deliverable solutions that are not only key to the Government delivering its ambition, 'but also to our core purpose', says Caroline Green.

There is a lot of commentary at the moment about how the Government needs to balance messages of gloom with some optimism and hope.

I think this is something councils could help them with. Of course, I'm not talking about the huge pressure on public services and hard choices that the chancellor's Autumn Budget will bring. But when it comes to delivering inclusive economic growth, we've got deliverable solutions that are not only key to the Government delivering its ambition, but also to our core purpose of improving the lives of our residents and communities now and for generations to come.
