Councils 'ignored' calls to evict rioters

According to research by The Daily Telegraph calls for rioters to be evicted from local authority housing have been ignored by councils.

Prime minister David Cameron's calls for those involved in last summer's riots to be evicted from local authority housing have been largely ignored by councils, according to research by The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

A total of 252 council tenants across fifteen local authorities were identified as taking part in the disorder last August - in which five people died and thousands clashed with police amid widespread violence and looting.
