The Government is facing a wave of protests from local authorities over its handling of the refugee crisis as migrants continue to flee.

Prime minister David Cameron this week promised to provide funding to councils but the vulnerable persons relocation scheme – under which the money would be provided – is limited to supporting refugees for just one year.
