Councils' PCT fight

Slough Council has joined forces with Windsor and Maidenhead RBC and Bracknell Forest Council to oppose government plans to merge their three primary care trusts (PCTs).

~Cheryl Coppell~ chief executive of Slough, said: ‘Merging the PCTs will mean a real step back for progress in healthcare.' ~David Lunn~ chief executive at Windsor and Maidenhead, said: ‘Size does matter, and we firmly believe that having a bigger PCT does not necessarily mean a better PCT.'
