New figures released today by leading campaigners indicate the extent of the poverty crisis.

New figures released today by leading campaigners indicate the extent of the poverty crisis faced by local authorities across the country.

Figures from mid-2011 were released by the Campaign to End Child Poverty and show persistent levels of deprivation in some areas. In 100 wards throughout the UK, the majority of children remain in poverty.
