Councils predict business rates bonanza

The total amount collected by councils in England for business rates is expected to soar by an inflation-busting 3.3% - to £23.1bn – according to the latest government figures.

The total amount collected by councils in England for business rates is expected to soar by an inflation-busting 3.3% - to £23.1bn – according to the latest government figures.

Latest figures from the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) reveal councils estimate the figures for 2015/16 will increase by £0.7bn.
