A growing number of local authorities are looking at alternatives to making cash payments in emergencies, according to Northgate Public Services.

The local government contractor's head of product management and innovation, Nigel Blair, told The MJ that a growing number of councils are moving towards a 'more holistic approach to benefit awards'.
