Councils could save billions by disposing of assets,according to Eric Pickles.

Councils could save billions by disposing of thousands of assets, including pubs, farms, and golf clubs, according to communities secretary Eric Pickles.

The Department of Communities and Local Government has published a map of 180,000 local authority-owned assets, including 130 cafes and restaurants, 100 pubs and 20 cinemas.
