Councils 'sitting on' £8bn of s106 and CIL money

Councils in England and Wales have failed to spend over £8bn of section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money, according to a new report.

Councils in England and Wales have failed to spend over £8bn of section 106 and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money, according to a new report.

The research by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) estimates councils are ‘sitting on' £6bn of s106 money and £2bn of CIL cash paid by developers.
