The Local Government Association (LGA) has criticised the way childcare places are funded, as a national charity warned of the spiralling costs of nursery care.

In a report issued today, the Family and Childcare Trust claimed the cost of a part-time nursery place for a child under the age of two had increased by 33% over the course of this Parliament.
