Councils need the tools to tackle climate change

If the Government didn’t quite achieve its aims during COP26, it can still lead by example, harness the profile of the summit and work with councils to tackle climate change on our own doorstep, argues Heather Jameson

In the aftermath of COP26, much of the chatter has revolved around whether the event has been a success or a failure for the UK Government.

The minutiae of the wording of the final agreement, the cracking voice and heartfelt apology of COP President Alok Sharma, Greta Thunberg's ‘blah, blah, blah' verdict – there is a long string of negatives, of faux pas and failures, surrounding the climate emergency summit.
