Councils place trust in troubled families idea

Eric Pickles has announced upper tier councils have accepted the offer to run a 'payment by results' troubled families programme.

Every upper-tier council has now taken up the Government's offer to run a ‘payment by results' troubled families programme in its area, communities secretary Eric Pickles announced this week.

Mr Pickles said the take-up proved that councils were confident in the Government's plans to reduce the £9bn cost of public sector agency interventions with 120,000 problem families.
