Councils have been urged to adopt a strategic'one public estate' approach to managing their property assets as a whole across their local area.

Speaking at a conference held today by the Chartered Institute for Public Finance and Accountancy (CIFPA), local government minister Baroness Hanham outlined why the government is promoting place-based estate management and removing barriers that hinder collaboration.
