Councils urged to do more to resettle refugees and asylum seekers

Councils must be given the necessary funds to resettle refugee and asylum-seeking children, the Local Government Association (LGA) has said after the immigration minister urged them to do more.

Councils must be given the necessary funds to resettle refugee and asylum-seeking children, the Local Government Association (LGA) has said after the immigration minister urged them to do more.

Speaking at the LGA's councillors' forum last week, Brandon Lewis said that more councils needed to participate in the Dubs and vulnerable children resettlement schemes so that the burden was equally distributed across the country.
