Failure to introduce best practice around procurement is costing local authorities hundreds of millions of pounds, a new report has warned.

The report by the international business services firm, the blur Group, claimed local authorities and other public sector organisations could save 3% of overall procurement spend through better processes and 5% of indirect costs associated with buying-in services.
