Councils are to be reviewed on how well they safeguard against ‘entryist' infiltration as part of the Government's new counter-extremist strategy.

A report to be published next year will highlight potential risks posed to the public sector by ‘entryist' behaviour from extremists alongside measures to improve defences, potentially including an overhaul of whistle blowing mechanisms.
