Counties call for Hunt meeting on care

County council leaders have called for an urgent meeting with the health secretary after warning a £1bn funding shortfall could force care homes to shut.

County council leaders have called for an urgent meeting with the health secretary after warning a £1bn funding shortfall could force care homes to shut.

The County Councils Network (CCN) said care markets in their areas were ‘close to crisis' and appealed to Jeremy Hunt to urgently provide funds.
